Insulation = Energy savings

Now is the time to upgrade that attic insulation and help increase comfort and enjoy year round energy savings. We have an excellent re-insulation department for insulating all the areas of your home.

The attic is the most important area of your home for insulation, and since heat rises and so are energy costs, your attic needs 12 to 16" insulation. This depends on the insulation materials that are used and the climate in which you live in. If your home was constructed prior to 1960, chances are the insulation in the exterior walls is non-existent. For the exterior walls, small holes are bored top and bottom between studs, through the drywall, plaster or the exterior wood siding and cellulose insulation is blown in under pressure virtually filling the void. The same procedure is done for garage ceilings or bay window floor projections with living space above them.

If your home was built over a crawl space, make sure the floor is well insulated as well as any ductwork in your home. Ventilation is very important so make sure that attic fan is working and that the ventilation at the eaves of the attic are clear.
